Frequently asked questions

How many days do you need in Riga?

A long weekend is enough for the highlights: the medieval Old Town, the world-class Art Nouveau district, the Central Market and a beach day in Jūrmala. With more time, add a day trip to Sigulda or the coast.

Is Riga expensive?

No. Riga is one of the more affordable capitals in Europe. Eating out, coffee and public transport cost a fraction of Western Europe, and the weekday set lunch (biznesa pusdienas) is especially good value.

Which is the best area to stay in Riga?

The centre and the streets around the Old Town and Miera iela are the most convenient. All of our residences are central and a short walk or tram ride from the main universities.

How do I get from Riga airport to the centre?

Bus 22, or a taxi or Bolt, reaches the centre in about 20 to 30 minutes. Public transport uses the rechargeable e-talons card, bought at a kiosk or machine.

Is Riga a good city for students?

Yes. Riga has a dozen universities and a large international student community, and our coliving residences are built for exchange and Erasmus students.
